A note from Darva

As you may have noticed, things have been slow here.

I recently made a major move, and have been busy with that and looking into new jobs or continuing college study. Time has been limited and distractions plentiful, so my writing here has suffered.

I've also been reading a lot of genuine old school games, mostly stuff from publishers other than TSR, to try and figure out just what exactly "old school" means to me. I've been a bit put off by recent trends in the OSR community to proclaim things like the DCC rpg and D&D Next (D&D5e) as old school. I need some time and consideration of all this to let me refocus on what I want to do here.

So, in the meantime, fellow old schooler and former blog owner chatdemon will be posting here. However, the stuff he's working on is not BECMI D&D or Mystara. He's got some material for AD&D 2nd edition, based in the Forgotten Realms setting, but I think that's sufficiently old school for inclusion here. I'll have him tag those posts as (FR2e) in the article titles for those who want to follow them, or ignore them, either way.

Mystara and Basic D&D material will continue from me, just might take a while longer.
